The money was allocated as follows: $1.2 million for Cummings High School, $750,000 for Broadview Middle School, and $1.55 million for Williams High School.

The district will still need to determine the cost of mold repairs at the nine new campsues affected.

The school system said a team of more than 300 workers from Builder Services of NC, a commercial mold remediation company based in Raleigh, will perform mold removal and repairs this week. Up to 2,000 more workers are on standby, according to the school system.

According to the school system, the company has committed to working 14-16 hour days to get the work done.

The district says staff at the newly affected schools will be temporarily relocated to new locations:

Western High staff working at Elon Elementary

Western Middle staff working at AO Elementary

Haw River Elementary staff working at CTEC

Eastlawn staff working at Andrews Elementary

Southern Middle staff working at Southern High

Sylvan Elementary staff working at B. Everett Jordan Elementary

Garrett Elementary staff working at Hawfields Middle School

South Mebane staff working at Southeast Alamance High School

Eastern High School staff working at Woodlawn Middle School

The school system is working to get the buildings ready for students to return on Sept. 5.

The school system said mold was first discovered at Andrews Elementary School in July, which led to inspections of other schools in the district. Mold was found at another school, Newlin Elementary, days later.

The school system said environmental tests found issues with poor air quality and mold at three more schools.

The board of education and county commissioners will meet again Wednesday at 10 a.m., where board members and commissioners will discuss concerns reported at other schools.
